Housekeeping Help: Aather Sidebar revamp

Hello Aather! As we get ready to move realms we are looking at doing a reorg of our available info since... as everyone has noticed, Aather has a lot of info spread out across a lot of locations.

As a first step to this, listed below the cut is a user-frequency poll for each of the links on the sidebar. If you have a spare minute, it would be a tremendous help if you could fill it out for us.

Obviously not everything that gets a low score will be removed (I didn't even include the "contact the mods" link as an option; that's going to stay whether or not anybody ever clicks on it just in case) but this will give us a better idea of what people really use and need, and what can maybe be moved to a different location.

I will leave the poll open for a week; if you don't vote in that time it's not the end of the world; again, it would just be of help as we start to reorganize things.

Just to clarify, I said I only use the registries link when I'm gathering memories, but when I am gathering memories, I love that it's theeeere and easy to find. So. '-'

Yes, as a runner I would cry forever if they were gone

Yesss. I MEAN I look at it more often because I like seeing what people have done but as a gamerunner it is basically a godsend and idk how I would survive without it since I'm already worn out by the end of games.

I've only helped with memory gathering a few times but gosh I can't imagine gathering memories without it.

I ACTUALLY... didn't know this link existed... so whenever I'd had to gather memories it was a nightmare. It looks beautiful though and I'm glad to know it exists now /)_(\

Yes this absolutely.

I remember reading all the available info posts when I first apped into the game, but that was when the game first started so I don't remember which ones were available or not. So I just clicked when I was new for all of them since I probably would have read them if they were there \o

ALSO BONTEN'S COMMENT REMINDED ME I think it would be super useful to have which teams won which games directly on the game history doc somewhere (unless it's there and I missed it). Maybe even just a bit with the colours of the winning teams so you can tell at a glance. I know I often use it to work out when I got a memory or what form the memory was in and it'd be much quicker if I could see more easily which games my team had won.

It is there! The second tab is the games the teams have won or lost o7

... so it is! Thanks, I somehow managed to forget what that tab was about and assume that "team stats" meant something other than a history of wins and losses.

Haha np! I.. I didn't even know that tab was there until I was put in charge of updating that doc because my superpower is not noticing that spreadsheets have multiple tabs >->a

The Game History document is the most useful thing in the world whenever I need to catch up on my memory writeups. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT.

Uh, I think having the library info on the world info page would be useful! Or a link to it. As a member of Onyx I've been asked about it before.

+1 to this on the Game History doc. So damn handy when I get behind on marking memories.

Sob I can't help it I'm so paranoid about activity that I read it like… constantly…

I will . . . Be a brat, and say that I am very visual, so I always look at the map a lot! But then I get confused when it isn't up to date, so it might be nice to have a short cut for unlocks on the sidebar like you do for games . . . . . . '-'

I like this idea too! Since half the time when I go to the World Info page it's to see if it's been updated with unlock information or just to click through to the unlock doc... So either a shortcut to the unlock tag or a link to the unlock doc would be nice!

ia this would be handy!! It might also be helpful to note on the world info page (if it isn't already) when the map was last updated, so we can tell when we can just go off the map or when we need to crosscheck with the unlocks for any world updates.

I use the map way less than is my instinct due to the update issue TBH so we can def look into ways to make it easier to update/make sure it happens more often!

But yes that doc is also something that could be added o7

I almost never look at a lot of these things because I go directly to Overclocked! But I use the player contact list constantly for mod stuff and the calendar since the sidebar is the only place I know how to get to it.

Also (I literally could just... do this anyway but) It might be nice to have the post header information in a text box that makes it easier to c/p!

I don't use it all the time, but whenever I do need it the player contact doc is the most helpful thing ever and I would cry if it weren't easily accessible :'(

I don't know how often it's in use anymore, but I like the Personae Hiatus Excuse doc, especially because of the "can people use your Personae as a hiatus excuse without asking permission, y/n" column. However, the hiatus page explicitly states that Personae players should be pinged before using Personae as a hiatus excuse so I'm not sure which instructions should be followed, do Personae players always need to be pinged or can the spreadsheet as to who does or does not want to be pinged be followed?

If the "can people use your Personae as a hiatus excuse without asking permission, y/n" column ends up being retained in the hiatus excuse spreadsheet, I think linking the spreadsheet from the sidebar would be helpful. Even though the spreadsheet and that column has been around for a while, I seem to see a lot of people still asking for Personae to take their character for hiatuses on the comm and so on.

...Anyway that's the only thing I could think of to comment on I hope my ramble made sense. '-'

Yes, that makes sense! It should be the latter -- just follow what it says on the spreadsheet. We can update the hiatus info page so that it matches, and put a note in the announcements to make sure that everyone's persona info is updated.
