aather_ooc | PLOT PLOT PLOTTERY i apologize for tl;dr in advance

OKAY GUYS. It's been ten days and most of the new votes aren't recent, so it seems like people are more or less done voting in the plot poll! The mods have stated that any attack on the darkness is going to be player driven and, while this may not have been the best time for a lot of us OOCly, our characters wouldn't ICly forget that this was a thing! Considering that the plot meeting took place 3 IC days ago and that was supposed to be where the decision we were addressing with the vote took place, we should probably get cracking on OOCly planning this out. Here is my proposal:

1→ Handwave that the characters discussed and agreed on when the attack would be ICly at the meeting on day 259 and have been working with that goal in mind since then! You can say your character heard about it any way you like.

2→ Decide on a firm ooc date for the plot to take place now! It looks like the poll is leaning heavily towards "an IC week after the meeting" both oocly and icly, which at a 3/1 day ratio puts us at about July 12 for an attack. This would make the weekend of July 13 a great time for all this to go down! Let's make that our plan.***

3→ Decide what we're oocly planning to do as preparation before that plot happens! ASSUMING WE DO GO WITH "ON JULY 13," some things that was brought up heavily during the IC discussions that did occur were fortification and disguise. A couple of characters can do some planning/setup with relevant Personae either offscreen or onscreen over the week — then we can have a big but low-intensity preparatory post this coming weekend to facilitate a way to further fortify the Great Hall against anything that'd get in while the barriers were down and make sure stealthy recon could happen. I'm thinking "joint-Personae mass quest!" I believe the Personae who were going to be consulted on defense and stealth were Guinevere and Columbine, so whatever can be worked out with those Personae players and the mods would be good.

4→ Showcase what our characters are doing in preparation in general, especially if your character WOULD be doing things but it's all mostly offscreen at the moment (I'm in this boat!) In the mass quest post or in another post designed for that. For example, Josh and Mau's siege weapon lessons or bomb handling lessons for the list of people who donated to Shark's bomb making efforts and would have a continuing interest in that would go there! These could be handwaved and the post could just contain talking about those afterwards but some showcasing of it would be good.

5→ Clear up what our characters would want to be helping out with so we can build up to that icly or plot how characters would be interacting over it over the next week! It's probably okay to handwave how your character got roped into whatever you want them to be doing if we establish who and what by then — we can always say it was discussed at that IC meeting that got sort of left hanging OOCly, or put up on the bulletin board. I'm going to put a bunch of subheaders in this post for people to comment to indicating interest (like Josh and Mau did on their bulletin board signup, except OOC instead of IC) so we can get a start on that.

Please feel free to add more subheaders! Or propose a completely different plan! I'm adding a subheader to discuss why I'm dumb and this is all a bad idea just in case. None of my characters would ICly be leading the effort here and I'm OOCly on nothiatus and about to go take an exam as soon as this is posted, so I'm about as far from in charge of this as it's possible to be! LET THE IDEAS FLOW.

THE HEARTS HAPPENING BEFORE THIS would potentially make us all flop over traumatized again and kill IC motivation and OOC energy as we had to deal with CR fallout ripples! I would really rather hit the attack while the iron's at least warm because IC motivation and OOC energy have been our major barriers to getting this done so far, and now it's an IC necessity that it get done at some point unless a lot of convoluted plot explanation backtracking happens, so we need to treasure having the impetus to do it like a precious gem. I HEAR YOU THOUGH. Maybe we could petition to have corruption hearts pushed back another week?

what if Mira is just that mean

Maybe some personae are actually such huge crazy jerks as to do a mean thing even after a victory and that could be interesting to work with too. A personae that doesn't leave room to be sympathetic and doesn't care about following the plot in ways sane people find reasonable and just wants to do a thing? idk WANTS TO HIT THE DARKNESS WHILE IT'S DOWN??

I think I'd at least find that interesting now that I've thought about it.

I'm pretty sure that is in fact the point of Mira or at least part of the point \:D/ IT'S NOT LIKE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A BAD REP IN AATHER ANYWAY

maybe we can use all our ic momentum from attacking the darkness to try to justice her. though that could set bad precedents for trauma game runners who didn't want their personae justiced... MAYBE THOUGH!

SOMETHING yeah. I think an IC reaction of justice tantrum would be more fun on the personae's end than asking to move it based on reasoning that said personae might not actually follow.

Though if Flynn's justice gets corrupted we're all doomed.

I think that AJ may be open to that kind of thing from previous discussions though obviously we'd have to ask hir. SOMETHING FUN MIGHT COME OF IT LONG TERM!

I still don't think that asking to move it back a week so characters are in slightly more of an ic mindframe for that sort of thing would wreck any IC reasoning, though — corruption hearts have been on the calendar for a really long time and we're just now trying to schedule this so I assume Mira doesn't really need a lot of immediate proximity for whatever IC narrative AJ was planning! I might email just to ask cos no harm asking.

Yeah, I think xe's generally pretty flexible on timing, and with the event happening so close to it it does make sense just in terms of giving players a breather from one big thing to the next.

the main problem would probably be another trauma game scheduled after corruption hearts and whether that'd need to be moved too or not but WE CAN SEE \:D/
